new flagship store opens on edgware road, london

‘As Nature Intended’ is an organic retailer based in London. They have picked up a number of awards both for their offering and their store designs which are exciting and reflect their wholesome, organic brand values.

Their new flagship store, on Edgware Road is a showcase in beautiful, curved lines and uses layers of wood to create stand out features and sculptural shapes in-store. The interior has been designed by Liverpool-based practice K2 Architects.

Wherever practical, loose food is available to buy by weight rather than pre-packaged. Nuts and seeds are merchandised in refillable dispensing jars and fruit and veg are nestled invitingly in baskets and crates.  Re-fill stations are available in-store for products like washing up liquid and detergent encouraging consumers to re-use packaging wherever practical.

Many of us are used to seeing fresh produce sold loose, but As Nature Intended, has made a commitment to reduce their impact on the environment and actively encourages suppliers to use recyclable and/or biodegradable packaging and fillers.

>< opinion

As consumers demand both convenience and responsibly sourced & packaged products, retailers need to ‘mirror’ these requirements and offer in-store merchandising solutions to match expectations. Retailers and brands might look to pioneers such as As Nature Intended for their inspiration.
